Longdendale

Better known for its railway tunnel, Woodhead, although the railway is no more it is still used for high voltage electricity distribution. Beats pylons. Woodhead is actually the name of the upper of five reservoirs in Longdendale supplying the water needs of Stockport.

In the distance on the photo is the notorious high point of Black Hill, 582m above sea level. Not a place to dally when the clag is down.
