Whorlton Castle

An unusual view of Whorlton Castle, the 14th century ruin on Castle Bank near Swainby. The early morning sun catching the sandstone gatehouse.

The castle is just one of the 700 Scheduled Monuments within the boundaries of the North York Moors National Park which was created exactly 64 years ago today (28 Nov 16). Happy Birthday NYMNP.
