Neptune, on his plinth, about to spear a fish with his trident, at Hardwick Park near Sedgefield in the Land of the Prince Bishops. The serpentine lake is three kilometres long, resembling a river, and was part of extensive landscaping by John Burden in the 18th century which included a larger second lake, Gothic ruins, a castle and a neoclassical temple. The park was extensively restored in 2010 with the help of a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
